When all zipped up it is a more compact bag but with the versatile zip split in the middle I can always add more to this satchel when the need arises. The removable shoulder strap is a great addition if, like me, you tend to overload your bag from time to time. You gotta love a handbag that’s named after a fruit, but the Celestina Mango Box Clutch is lovable for more reasons than just that one. It’s not only a beautiful shade of candy pink shagreen but its stingray box clutch design has natural daniela wood trim for something a little different than the norm of gold or silver metal hardware. It’s lined in a shade of soft ivory and features a hidden magnetic closure, plus (in another detour from the usual) it comes with a small mirror included. $1365

Would you splurge on a raffia bag

Posted in Miu Miu handbags ( on June 14th, 2011 by handbags brands

Over the weekend we started with windy, rainy, chilly weather and ended with sunshine and temperatures reaching

the mid 70s. I won’t complain because that warmth is just what I was needing, but I must admit Mother Nature is

confusing me. However, with the arrival of spring and summer, raffia reappears.

When I first spotted the Miu Miu Leather Trimmed Raffia Satchel on Net-A-Porter, I immediately thought to myself

‘I would never splurge on a raffia bag’. But then I remembered that I indeed have miu miu handbags online bought a designer raffia

bag from Balenciaga and I adore it.

The wearability factor goes down tremendously when thinking about buying a seasonal piece such as this and truth

be told, many are not fans of the scratchy look and feel raffia gives. On this Miu Miu bag, it is not my favorite

either, but when it comes to my Balenciaga bag I really love it as a fun summer bag. Buy the Miu Miu bag via NAP

for $1,450.

Man Bag Monday: Prada Leather Shoulder Bag

Posted in Prada handbags on June 14th, 2011 by handbags brands

We have disappointed some with our lack of Man Bag Monday features, and for that I apologize. However, we are back

on track now and while Vlad covered a novelty idea earlier today I have a full on leather bag to share.

Right when I saw this pop up on Neiman Marcus I knew I would cover it. If you had to ask me what type of man bag I

am drawn to, this Prada bag is it. I love the idea of masculine and rugged yet not overly structured bag. This bag

has it all for me, does it have it for you?

The brown lambskin leather looks both supple and durable on the Prada Leather Shoulder Bag. There is gunmetal replica prada handbags hardware shown on the buckled

top handles which gives a slight briefcase feel though the entire design of the bag is not as rigid and structured

as the typical briefcase. You all know by now I am a huge fan of removable shoulder straps and I assume men are as

well, since they may be using this bag as their work bag.

The inside of the bag adds functionality with an inside, large snap, cell phone, and zip pocket. The only downside

I see if the dimensions which are only 5″H x 11″W x 5″D. This means the typical laptop would not work for this

bag but an iPad certainly would. Of course the size matters to the wearer and depends on what the wearer would

like to carry.

Valentino goes for the gold with sleek crocodile

Posted in Valentino handbags on June 14th, 2011 by handbags brands

If fashion seasons were like the Olympics, you could call Fall 2011 the Exotic Games – everywhere you look,

brands are coming out with crocodile and snakeskin bags, seemingly each a little more drool-worthy than the last.

Because trends are rarely penned in to a single cycle, though, plenty of reptilian delights have turned up in

spring’s collections as well, including from brands that aren’t necessarily known for their work with exotics.

That would be the case with the Valentino Va Va Voom Crocodile Shoulder Bag; Valentino produces exotic bags here

and there but hasn’t made it a brand cheap valentino handbagstrademark, although that hasn’t stopped the company’s designers from getting in on the

valentino handbags

fun.

I’ve been a bit suspicious of this bag since the Valentino Spring 2011 runway show back in September of last year,

and I still don’t entirely understand the little studded hand slot, what purpose it serves on a shoulder bag or

why, exactly, anyone would ever be compelled to stick her hand in it. Aside from that, though, this simple,

straightforward design is pretty nicer, particularly in dark-chocolate crocodile. The non-exotic details are nice

on this bag as well, particularly the delicate metal handle attachments that adorn the top. But for five figures,

the bag should be perfect, and this one isn’t quite there.

Angelina Jolie for Louis Vuitton’s Core Values Campaign

Posted in Louis Vuitton handbags on June 14th, 2011 by handbags brands

The latest installment of Louis Vuitton’s Core Values Campaign features actress and UN Goodwill ambassador

Angelina Jolie.

Angelina agreed to be captured by famous photographer Annie Leibowitz for the campaign in Cambodia, a country

which she first visited in 2000 for her role as Lara Croft and later returned on humanitarian missions, raising

awareness of the dangers of landmines. She subsequently adopted her first child, Maddox, from a Cambodia

orphanage.

The striking capture shows Jolie sitting in a traditional wooden boat in the province of Siem Reap, alongside her

vintage Louis Vuitton Monogram Alto Holdall, a bag she has owned for many years.

I love the simplicity and calm nature of the photograph, the setting was well chosen to depict the travel theme of

LV’s Core Values campaign. PurseBlog applauds beautiful Angelina for donating her fee for this campaign entirely

to charity!

Jimmy Choo mines both ends of the design spectrum for Fall 2011

Posted in Jimmy Choo handbags on June 14th, 2011 by handbags brands

A bag doesn’t need to come from a collection with a strong and unified design vision to be good, but more often

than not, the best bags do. Starting with a clear point of view gives a set of designs a singular vision and set

of references from which to pull, and knowing what those are going in to the creation process tends to lead to

better and more rigorous editing, something that Jimmy Choo’s Fall 2011 Handbags could have really used.

As I look at these pictures, I started out optimistic; a good dose of structure was perhaps exactly what was Jimmy Choo handbags needed in order to set Choo

on the right track. But as I continued to click through bags, things got weirder and weirder, and not in a chic

way. Several bags are covered in metal Zodiac medallions, some of them are giant, structureless puffs of fur, one

in particular is very much in need of a shave. My advice to the folks at Jimmy Choo would be to keep the box

clutches and start from scratch with everything else.

Gucci Resort 2012: Is zebra the new leopard?

Posted in Gucci handbags on June 14th, 2011 by handbags brands

Pictures of resort accessories can be difficult to come by because no such thing as Resort Fashion Week exists –

shows are far-flung and photographed less extensively than traditional collections. We’ve come up with a few

photos of the bags from the recently presented Gucci Resort 2012 show, though, and one thing is obvious: Someone

out there is trying to make zebra happen.

And I feel more than fine about the advent of zebra; most of us should be stocked up on exquisite leopard gucci handbags clearance pieces by now, and I’m

itching for something a little different. I wish that Gucci had trimmed its zebra pieces in bright leather instead

of neutral beige, but it does make the bags a bit more seasonless than they would be if the leather were colorful.

Check out a few more pictures plus a python option after the jump.

Dior Resort 2012 Handbags

While none of us know for certain where Dior is headed, if the snaps that have come out of the Dior Resort 2012

handbags are any indication, accessories addicts don’t have much to worry about. During recent years, John

Galliano’s Dior gave us season after season of mediocre accessories, never quite recreating the success that the

brand had with the Saddle Bag years ago. I don’t see the Next Saddle Bag in this array, but I do see some very

fun designs.

The Lady Dior bag with clear beads will remind a lot of people of Prada’s stellar Spring 2010 accessories

collection, and there are certainly worse steps in which to follow while the brand finds its new direction. The

rest of what we see so far is solid, functional and colorful in a way that will likely make it move off store

shelves very quickly; the bags feel very of-the-moment, which is something that’s been largely missing from Dior

accessories for some time. Several more pictures after the jump.
